Earlier this year, Blue Shield of California commissioned a Harris Poll on people’s perceptions of healthcare, and the results were eye-opening. Eight in 10 Californians said they have good, or at least somewhat good, quality health care, but many also said the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted their care greatly. A quarter of respondents say the quality of care they received has worsened since the pandemic. People of color, those with low incomes, and young adults were more likely to say they had a hard time accessing care in general.
