Oakland Puzzle Company is a mission-driven jigsaw puzzle manufacturer crafting puzzles in a small factory in the Eastlake neighborhood of Oakland. We partner with local artists and organizations to raise funds and promote their work. We focus on high-quality puzzles, a local supply chain, and supporting other small, ethical businesses.
We launched on Kickstarter in May of 2023 and in our first six months, we raised over $10,000 for artists and organizations. Our most popular puzzle is the Long Lost Oakland map created with the local history podcast East Bay Yesterday. It includes a guide of the historic features on the puzzle and a 5 episode podcast miniseries that goes with the image can be found online.
Through Christmas, we are raising funds for Rocket Dog Rescue with two dog-themed puzzles and also recently launched a three-puzzle series with Hugo Award nominee Paul Lewin.
